The Consortium dels Colls i Miralpeix - Costa del Garraf is a public body created with the goal of sustainably managing coastal areas, ocean and land in the county of Garraf, favoring the biological connectivity of these spaces, the Park of Garraf, Olerdola Park and the Park of Foix.
Natura 2000 Network
Costas Garraf is an area declared a Site of Community Importance (SCI) and Special Protection Area for Birds (SPA), a member of the Natura 2000 network. marine area with a wide area stretching between the towns of Castelldefels and Cunit and spaces in the ground neck, Muntanyeta space and the mouth of Foix. Long Beach and the mouth of the stream of Ribes are included as natural areas inventory of wetlands in Catalonia.
Costas Garraf is an area of special importance for food and seabird communities of the Delta del Llobregat, Delta del Ebro and even the Mediterranean shearwater breeds in the Balearic Islands. It is also an important area for bird migration in the periods of rest.
The European Commission has launched, with the collaboration of the European Environment Agency, a cartographic viewer of the Natura 2000 network, which offers various search options and location of sites that make up the network in Europe Both the names for the species of interest and the sites and habitats where they can find.
OBSEA
The Technology Development Centre of Remote Acquisition and Data Processing Center (SARTI) is a research group of the UPC which is part of the Network of Support for Technological Innovation of the ICW (IT Network). SARTI Center consists of a multidisciplinary team that includes members from different departments of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC). Is Associate Unit of the Institute of Earth Sciences Jaume Almera, Institute of Marine Sciences and Marine Technology Unit of the CSIC.
LAB
The Laboratory of Applied Bioacoustics (LAB) represents the mature response to a multidisciplinary group of scientists to sound the continuous degradation of the marine ecosystem that is taking place in the Atlantic Ocean and North Sea Mediterrani.El born LAB respond to technological solutions to the conservation of marine habitat and prevent the progressive deterioration. Its main objective is to develop applications capable of limiting the effects of anthropogenic noise on sea and contribute to sustainable development of maritime activities. This way you can meet the increasing demand respect for local, national and international society in general through mechanisms of control of marine noise pollution.
EL LITORAL EN BICICLETA: CAMÍ PEDALABLE COSTA DEL GARRAF
Anar a treballar des de Vilanova a Sitges en menys de 20 minuts; o anar de Cubelles a estudiar a Vilanova en un temps semblant, són alguns dels principals objectius del Camí Pedalable de la Costa del Garraf. Ser una alternativa a la mobilitat obligada entre els municipis litorals del Garraf, per a facilitar els desplaçaments a treballar, estudiar o a qualsevol activitat o de gestió.
